We are a fast growing IT Support company specialising in Hospitality venues. We have a great team of engineers, operational support and admin and are now looking to grow the team with an accounts assistant / bookkeeper. Reporting to the Financial Director your remit will be to carry out day to day accounts duties as detailed below. If you have at least 2 years experience in a similar role, are proficient on Xero and would like to be a part of a happy, fun team then we would love to hear from you.
Duties will include:
- Managing client invoices and payments
- Preparation / sending quotes via Xero
- Ensure that receivables are collected promptly / chase debtors by phone
- Creation of client reports
- Account reconciliations (bank, PayPay, Credit Card, DD etc)
- Setting up of direct debits on Go Cardless
- Dealing with billing / invoicing queries by phone or email
- Purchase Ledger – supplier invoices
- Check supplier invoices are correct
- Advise on Purchase payments due
- Completing VAT returns
- Process weekly Payroll including payslips, PAYE registration and RTI submissions
- Maintain PAYE records
- Maintain NI Contributions
- Pension processing and submissions
- Process Expenses / mileage
- Monthly reporting on financial performance of business
- Present reports directly to the Directors
- Working with accountants to prepare end of year accounts
- Ad Hoc project work as required by the Business
The person we are looking for will:
- Have at least 2 years experience in a similar role
- Have strong bookkeeping skills
- Be highly proficient in Xero accounting / Reporting / Payroll
- Possess first-rate numerical skills
- Confident software user with experience of cloud accounting software such as Go Cardless and Fathom
- Have solid organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Have excellent communication skills, including relationship building with individuals across the business
- Have the ability to work quickly, accurately and to deadlines, using a logical and methodical approach
- Knowledge of Excel / Google sheets
