Lloyds Pharmacy unroll new Aures EPoS architecture
6th September 2019

Lloyds Pharmacy, the community and retail pharmacist group, has finally completed its national EPoS roll-out across its entire UK and Ireland retail estates. The new EPoS roll-out included its entire 1,600 stores and included the upgrading of 2,200 EPoS systems along with P2Pe Chip and PIN devices – along with 1,300 new PC systems to help fulfil the EPoS function.
Lloyds Pharmacy chose to collaborate with Aures and the roll-out saw the company choose the Aures J2 PoS platform and enabling system.
The full upgrade cycle was delivered by Vista Retail Support who have been technology partners with Lloyds Pharmacy for nearly five years. The roll-out also included a full IT update with Cisco Meraki WiFI being deployed along with back-office IT systems and print services being overhauled and upgraded accordingly.
The roll-out also includes a full refit of the EPoS and IT cabling structures across its entire 1,600 stores. This was done to improve the Aures system functionality from a data perspective.
The Chief Information Officer of Lloyds Pharmacy’s parent company McKesson UK, Ranjit Gill stated:
“We are very pleased with the way in which Vista have managed our projects; they have the scale, flexibility and experience to manage large scale technology changes within our business – they really are a true partner.”
At Astaris, we have a great deal of experience in installing the IT infrastructure to support reliable new EPoS systems particularly in the hospitality industry so we’d be very happy to speak to any pubs, clubs, restaurants, hotels and cafes who would like to upgrade their EPoS system.
